Suncoast Remake Learning Days Draws More Than 45,900 Participants to 378 Fun-Filled, Learning Events

During this year’s fourth annual Suncoast Remake Learning Days, more than 45,900 people attended 378 interactive, hands-on learning events throughout our region. This 2025 learning festival for youth of all ages and their families concluded on May 3 after attracting its largest turnout to date over 15 days.
The events were created by 265 partnered community hosts, including museums, libraries, schools, community centers, and other local organizations. Events were organized by six learning themes — Arts, Maker, Outdoor Learning, Science, Technology, and Youth Voice — and tailored to youth and their families, caregivers, and educators. All of the learning events were designed to be accessible, open to the public, and appropriate for any age.
Our region’s participation in Suncoast Remake Learning Days has grown with each new annual iteration. Since its inception in 2022, more than 117,000 people throughout Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee, and Sarasota counties have participated in the festival.
“We aspire to create a brighter future for all children and families in our region,” said Beth Duda, director of the Suncoast Campaign for Grade-Level Reading for The Patterson Foundation. “Creating that spark is critical. The fun, interactive, yet educational events of Suncoast Remake Learning Days ignite that spark for learning in both children and their families. It strengthens their appreciation for learning, their relationship with one another, and our education system as a whole.”
Presented by the Suncoast Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, our regional celebration was part of the larger Remake Learning Days, a worldwide celebration of innovative experiences and opportunities for youth to develop their sense of creativity, perseverance, and curiosity. This year marks the 10th anniversary of Remake Learning Days, with 15 regional festivals taking place across the U.S. and three international regions through June 15.
All Suncoast Remake Learning Days events are free to attend as a gift from The Patterson Foundation to foster wide participation around everyday learning.
Suncoast Remake Learning Days will return in 2026 from Saturday, April 18 to Saturday, May 2. More information on how to host a Suncoast Remake Learning Days or experience the 15-day festival will be shared at SuncoastRemakeLearningDays.org later this year.
