When You Wonder, You’re Learning

I'm interested in hosting a book circle

Host A Book Circle

When You Wonder, You’re Learning reveals this never-before-seen side of America’s favorite neighbor, exploring how Rogers nurtured the “tools for learning” now deemed essential for school, work, and life. These tools can boost academic performance, social-emotional well-being, and physical health. They cost almost nothing to develop and are up to ten times more predictive of children’s success than test scores.

Book circles consist of at least (6) individuals coming together for (4) engaging meet-ups between September 12 and January 25. We’re talking about lively discussions, laughter, and literary discoveries! And guess what? The Patterson Foundation is going to sprinkle in some extra magic:

  • A copy of When You Wonder, You’re Learning –  Mister Rogers’ Enduring Lessons for Raising Creative, Curious, Caring Kids, for each participant
  • A discussion guide written for adults with prompts for each chapter of the book (Spanish version available upon request)
  • Activities for children and families that coincide with the themes in the discussion guide
  • A certificate of completion for each participant

Each successful local book circle will have an option to
choose ONE of the following:

  1. $400 in support dollars to assist with childcare, snacks, or facilitation and a certificate of completion for each participant
  2. $500 Pay-it-Forward award to The Giving Partner nonprofit of their choice and a certificate of completion for each participant
  3. Thank you, we don’t require any financial support beyond the books, discussion guides, and certificates of completion
