Let’s Get the Party Started: Join us at the Suncoast Remake Learning Days Bash!

Laurie Miller, Suncoast Campaign for Grade-Level Reading

Dear Friends,

Have you ever noticed how many popular songs are about parties? From Kool and the Gang’s “Celebration” to Pink’s “Get the Party Started,” party songs become huge hits and anthems to “Party All the Time” (Eddie Murphy) and “Dance to the Music” (Sly and the Family Stone). I love party songs, and if you know me or my family, you likely already know that we love a good party. We do big birthday bashes, Thanksgiving and Friendsgiving, Christmas and Hanukkah, New Year’s Eve, and, as if that’s not enough, we have even created our own holiday, Eastover Feastover (it’s like a combination of Easter and Passover, think gelt hidden in Easter eggs). That’s right, I will celebrate anything. Not only that, I like a long party. In fact, my husband jokes that I’m always the last one to leave a party (because I am, so keep that in mind if you send me an invite).

As a self-professed party gal, I am deeply delighted to invite you to the party of the season. The Suncoast Remake Learning Days Pop-Up Party!

When: Saturday, Oct. 28th from 9am–12pm
Where: Suncoast Technical College, 4748 Beneva Road. Sarasota, FL 34233

This free, fun family event is open to the public, so invite all your friends and colleagues! Come ignite your imagination. Experience wonder, joy, and curiosity as children and caregivers explore hands-on learning activities and games and watch engaging demonstrations and interactive performances. Plus, all attendees have the opportunity to complete a scavenger hunt to win free food tickets at one of our three food trucks! Because, what’s a party without party food?! And you’ll need that party fuel because there’s so much happening! Who’s going to be there? Everyone! We’re talking Mote Marine, Florida Studio Theatre, the Van Wezel, student artists from Booker Middle, the Asolo, Sarasota Contemporary Dance, Circus Arts Conservatory, Soar in 4, Wholehearted Education, Embracing Our Differences…and the list goes on. Who else should be on the list? You!

Don’t miss this fabulous free time The New York Times called “a sandbox for your brain” (*just kidding, I said that) thanks to the generosity of The Patterson Foundation. Come foster a strong sense of community, strengthen and forge connections, create new partnerships, learn more about 2024’s Suncoast Remake Learning Days, and party with me. I promise I’ll be there until the very end. I’m always last to leave a party.

I hope to see you there!
Your friend,
Laurie
