Kindergarten will be here before we know it, and SCGLR needs volunteers on Monday, February 28 to help prepare Kindergarten Readiness Bags.

The assembly of Kindergarten Readiness Bags is a very physical event, including unloading and moving boxes, setting up, and cleaning up afterward.

Kindergarten Readiness Bags will be distributed at Kindergarten Round-up events (TBA) in Charlotte, DeSoto, and Sarasota counties and at Title 1 schools in Manatee County. Students who do not attend Kindergarten Readiness events will receive their bags at the time of Kindergarten registration.

During this shift you will be standing and assembling Kindergarten Readiness bags for Sarasota and Manatee County children.  We are limiting each shift to four volunteers to allow for social distancing.  All participants need to be fully vaccinated and will be required to wear a mask.

Location: The address is 3501 S. Tamiami Trail. The best entrance is off Siesta Drive.  This is the old Southgate Mall.

Attire:  Comfortable clothes and closed-toed shoes.
