See Spot Read Spot
June 8, 2015 - August 14, 2015

To help combat Summer Learning Loss, United Way of Manatee County is partnering with Summer BreakSpot, a State of Florida feeding program for children in our community. Volunteers will read to low-income children and distribute books during free meal times.
The simple gesture of providing books to children without access to quality learning experiences in the summer is a great place to start! Book Drive hosts are needed to gather donations of new books for children of all ages through high school throughout the summer.
To host a book drive, or for a list of book drop off locations, please contact dravagnani@uwmc.net.

Make the choice to volunteer to read to groups of children and give them books to take home. While the exact program schedule has not been finalized, we do anticipate the schedule to fall during the lunch hour (11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) once a week from mid-June to mid-August.
Together, we can have a lifelong impact on a child’s potential to succeed by giving them the tools they need to keep them learning throughout the summer.
