Bradenton’s 13^th Avenue Dream Center is providing extra support over the summer for participants in its Reading Recovery/Reading Buddies Program. This five-week intensive reading workshop will enable the “Opportunity 20” (lowest-level readers in the Reading Recovery program) to maintain and enhance their reading levels avoiding the summer slide.

Over the summer, students will meet three times per week from 9:00 a.m. until noon. The Christ Church of Longboat Key Reading Buddies will work with and mentor small groups of children.

The Summer Enhancement program was funded in part through a matching $15,000 grant from the Manatee Matches Giving Circle of the Manatee Community Foundation.
