The Newtown Farmers Market in Sarasota, in collaboration with our community partners, is excited to host the 3rd annual Big Mama’s Collard Greens Fest on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from noon-6pm.

Location: Robert L. Taylor Community Complex, a spacious outdoor facility known for bringing families together from across the city and the state.

General Admission: FREE (Tickets not required)

This is a family-friendly, no-alcohol event. Food will be available for purchase from multiple food vendors. Outside food or drinks are not allowed, but we do encourage families to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets.

The fest is a celebration of community and culture, with influence from Cajun, Creole, Southern and Caribbean styles. The legendary “big mama” represents the best-tasting family collard greens recipes, some dating back more than 100 years. In addition, chefs from major restaurants in Sarasota and Manatee counties and the Tampa Bay area will showcase their collard greens and specialty foods. Entertainment will highlight local talent!
