The Suncoast Campaign for

Grade-Level Reading

The Suncoast Campaign for Grade-Level Reading (SCGLR) is a four-county effort in Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee, and Sarasota counties in Florida

fostering wide community participation to achieve shared aspirations for the success of families and children.

We are proud to be part of the more than 390 Campaign for Grade-Level Reading communities in 44 states across the nation and in the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Canada.
The Patterson Foundation is the regional accelerator with county specific work led by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, United Way Suncoast, and United Way of Charlotte County.

When You Wonder, You’re Learning Book Circle Project

The Suncoast Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, alongside co-authors Gregg Behr and Ryan Rydzewski, is thrilled to launch the When You Wonder, You’re Learning Book Circle Project, made possible by the generous support of The Patterson Foundation!

On September 13 and 14, Ryan connected with folks in Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee, and Sarasota and set the stage for our region’s book circle adventure.

The excitement is contagious as book lovers and educationalists like you are already signing up to lead or actively participate in book circles.
